Trish pointed out that, while Honduras technically has free medical care through government hospitals and clinics, what is truly available for free is limited, in quantity and quality.
Merlin’s family is tapped out--both financially and emotionally. His parents are by his side in the hospital, while their other four children are back home, four hours away. The oldest sibling, who is sixteen, is caring for the three other children. The medical mercy program through Sowers4Pastors is doing what it can to offer support and you can help, too. Naturally, your prayers are coveted. Your financial support can help defray the costs of surgical supplies, blood transfusions, living expenses, transportation, and meals. The family is currently without income, while the parents are with Merlin.
I will not sugarcoat this. Merlin’s condition is dire. While we pray for miraculous healing, we know that God’s ways are not ours. There is a chance we will not get the exact ending we’d all like to see. But we have a chance to surround this family with love and support.
To offer financial support for Merlin and his family, click here. Select “Medical Mercy Projects” in the drop menu beside “Purpose”. Simply label your donation, “Merlin”.
