Happy Little Praise and Prayer report

Have you ever noticed that prayer requests and praise reports usually have more overlap than the happy little trees in a Bob Ross painting? Where does one end and the other begin? That’s why this post will not be separated into individual prayer/praise categories. You’re getting the forest, not the trees.

Some pictures of happy trees in this post
The first prayer/praise blob we come to has to do with Trish’s health. She’s finally feeling much, much better. She’s completely off of the meds she needed to get her to this point. She tires easily, but after months of being a semi-invalid, no one expects her to be training for a triathlon. She is having to get caught up on a lot of work and general life stuff that has piled up during her recovery. She’s trying to get everything done, but she isn’t yet able to go full-steam ahead yet. Prayers for her to regain her strength and complete her outrageously long to-do list are welcome. It is, of course, a major praise that she was able to attend Christopher and Audrey's wedding despite still being in the healing process!

Now let’s move over to the second tree-like prayer/praise shape. This one concerns the backpack collection trip. All is going well and the trip is coming to an end. For the most part, COVID has only caused miniscule problems concerning the trip. One thing that is not miniscule is the price of everything. This is always the time of year when Sowers4Pastors racks up a lot of expenses. There were empty backpacks and shoes to purchase, etc. They are grateful that everything is going so well, but they are keeping a close eye on finances.

The third prayer/praise tree is so close to the second one that it is like the other side of a gigantic tree that Bob Ross decided to make the focal point. The end of backpack collection time means that it’s almost time to ship the containers. Sowers4Pastors made the very intentional decision to try to ship early this year. They have been able to get things at the collection points and they expect to be able to ship early. However, in the past, there were some problems with the logistics of shipping--like having great difficulty in getting a truck to pick up the containers and get them to where they needed to be. Please pray that they won’t experience long delays and that trucks will be available to move each container to its respective dock. The rising cost of shipping is another reason why it will be better to ship ASAP. It looks like most of the shipping backlog is happening on the West Coast, but the huge number of ships waiting in line to get to port and unload in California is a reminder that anything can happen. The Sowers family has done everything in its power to give them extra time, but that is no guarantee. Pray that everything gets shipped and up the mountain to Gracias in a timely (and most cost-effective) manner.

Our fourth little prayer/praise tree is that so far everything has gone very well, but prayers for safety are always appreciated. The trip has taken place in shifts, so pray for those who are on the road and for those back home in Gracias. Trish is very grateful to have a crew of burly workers around the homestead, but everyone is being extra-vigilant. The kidnapping aside, Gracias is really a relatively low crime area, but they are well-prepared for any problems that might occur. While it’s wonderful to know that they are being prudent, let’s all pray that no problems will occur.

The crew at S4P would just like to say thank you, so very much, for partnering with S4P in prayer. A ministry like this takes many different components to run, and prayer is definitely a very large, very important component!
