I've been remiss, so here's an update on the bridge construction project

I haven't posted anything about the huge bridge project in Las Flores for quite some time. The men are working furiously on this, and I'm soooo far behind on my postings.

So, here are some photos, still from the pouring of the first support wall:

Because the wall is so very big, it has been poured in horizontal sections. In this set of pictures, the top of support wall reaches above ground level! The pvc pipes you can see running crosswise inside the wall panels will be for drainage. Instead of water backing up and creating pressure on one side of the wall, it will be able to pass on through.







At the top of each horizontal section, the concrete is smoothed, but large rocks are placed half-in and half-out of the concrete. This helps bind the next section to this one.
